When your brain receives more input from your five senses than it can sort through and process.
When overwhelmed by all the input, the brain responds as it would to a
life-threatening situation and enters fight, flight, or freeze mode.
Anyone can experience it and everyone has different sensory preferences, but sometimes those preferences become extreme and interrupt your daily life.
